Light and Your Metabolism

We noticed a great post go up today on HNGN that discusses how exposure to light in the morning can help with weight loss. The article mentions that light may be as beneficial to weight loss as sleep, and provides the supporting evidence to back it.

In our own studies with developing the Awake & Alert and Good Night lights, we have found plenty of research supporting how the right amount of sleep and light can balance the body’s internal clock. And, having a balanced internal clock has more benefits than on just your metabolism. Maintaining a consistent clock or circadian rhythm is important for all aspects of your life from enhancing important hormone production to performing daily tasks.

What makes keeping our internal clock on track so difficult and leads us down that path of weight gain and exhaustion is the fact that in the U.S. alone, we spend 90% of our time indoors. That mean’s we’re not getting the right light when we need it most. We developed our lights as a solution to this overwhelming problem. As soon as you wake up, you can turn on your Awake & Alert light and know that you are getting your day started off right. Our spectrally specific lights bring all the circadian benefits of morning daylight to wherever you are in the morning (shower, office, school).

    Since I use the sleeping lights, I’m really having a good sleep, before me always have difficulties to sleep!
